We present the concert of the Cantus Ensemble Zagreb, which was originally planned for the spring of 2020 on the occasion of the Croatian presidency of the European Union. Soon after its founding in 2001, the ensemble played regularly at the Arnold Schönberg Center. In addition to renowned composers from Croatian modernism, the program also includes songs from Schönberg’s “Book of the Hanging Gardens”, which mark the beginning of free atonality, and Anton Webern’s Concerto, op. 24, which links twelve-tone scoring with the structures of a concerto in the tradition of Johann Sebastian Bach.
6.30 pm: Curatorial tour with Therese Muxeneder
through the exhibition »Into Nature with Schönberg«
